I am hoping this blog post finds you happy and enjoying your day/ evening. I thought that I would share something that I would have really appreciated when I first started crocheting – it’s a listing of the Master Crochet Abbreviations; found on the Craft Yarn Council website.
Although, I don’t remember exactly when this was but I can remember when a pattern I was trying called for something abbreviated to hdc – now I know immediately that it means a half double crochet. But initially, I didn’t know what that meant or how to do that stitch. It’s funny to me now as this is now one of my favourite stitches to use in my patterns and creations but back then I was at a complete loss.
Thankfully, I was able to find the info on the internet with pictures; so it was easy to follow along and learn this new stitch. Now this is my website of choice for many different resources for both knitting and crochet, plus a lot of really great information about yarn as well. I highly recommend browsing through this site as it’s a great way to gain knowledge about your craft and fiber needs.

Happy crocheting everyone!
